My Husband the Sheep Hunter

Well Jarrett was at it again, home decorating. Or as he would call it sheep hunting. Jarrett was set for a ten day solo hunt in the far off mountains of Alaska. He was flown in prior to season, found this guy and got him on opening day. So our newest addition to the wall decorations will be ready before Christmas. Jarrett also got a moose tag on the air force base in Anchorage, a brown bear tag for spring on Kodiak Island, in November he will be hunting sitka blacktail on Kodiak Island with Reese, and he is trying to find a way up the haul road for a caribou. So do you think this guy gets to hunt enough? I just keep thinking of when the boys are old enough they will all be going together, how sweet.

Love and sheep meat,

Prayers for Jake

A friend and son of one of our favorite Alaskan families fell while sheep hunting with his dad on August 18th. Jake is still in ICU, for those of you who know him and would like to check his daily progress you can do so at How is Jake?

This is a photo of Jake and Luke being "tough guys".
Please keep Jake and his very special family in your thoughts and prayers.

Thanks

VBS

Caleb finished his session of vacation bible school. He had a great time, he came home with lots of crafts and learned lots of new bible song. His favorite song is the Hip Hip Hippopotamus song! He received a bible for bringing the most friends in his class. On the last day he was pretty tuckered so he said, "Mom, I'm a little tired... maybe I should not go to PBS today!" Ah, but mom became very accustom to having Caleb in school from 9:30 to 12.

Company

We love to have company. I love going to all the touristee places. I love living in a place that people love to come visit. (In the summer). Anyways we had a great visit with Richard and Carol. We visited late into the night. Richard enjoyed the access to high speed internet. What a sweet couple.

I think ya'll should come and visit so you can make it into the blog.... What do you think???

Snowmachine

Caleb was giving this classical snowmachine a try. We were in Talkeetna, I love this little town, it must be the Humboldt hippy in me.

Hatcher's Pass

Okay I know you've all seem pictures of Hatcher's Pass before, but it is so beautiful, I can't help but to post more picutures of the kids there. SO do you think I have my hands full or what??

Govenor's Picnic

We attended the governor's picnic. It was fun, games and salmon burgers. Caleb like the activity were you mined for oil in a cupcake. As you can see he really enjoyed the frosting. Then we had to tear him away from the big inflated slide. Aunt Stacey is so helpful, she is great at wrangling the boys. Luke loved running around in the grass.

Dipnetting

Okay, I have to admit, dipnetting is one of my favorite things to do.....
How can you beat floating down the Kenai with great company catching reds! I love it.

We camped at the Diamond M Ranch it is a fun little place, but what makes it so great is the company. There are about ten church families and we all camp together, it's like a little fishing commune. Fun Fun Fun.

Gary was kind enough to introduce Caleb to filleting fish. He is a brave man. We all had a great time.

Mexican Riveria

I haven't posted in a while but I have a good excuse.... vacation. We went on a seven day carnival cruise. It was FABULOUS!! The food, service, shows, and best of all the company was awesome. We went with three other great couples.

I think Jarrett's favorite part was the 24 hour pizzaria.

Concrete

We decided to add a concrete deck out the back door. Caleb was so excited to see the concrete truck, I know the driver had to be impressed that a three year old knew all the part of the truck. He wanted to help so bad, it was his job to help the concrete down the chute with his shovel... He is a very hard worker just like his dad!

Luke was in his outside playpen the back of the truck. As soon as he got out he walked across the concrete, leaving little footprints, luckily it was easily fixed. As was the big dog prints as well! It's always interesting around here!

Memorial Day Camping

We decided to go camping for Memorial Day. This would be my first camping trip with the boys in a tent without dad, he was working. So we kept it close to home. Aunt Stacey went along as moral support. Good thing, because before we could even unload the truck Caleb was testing out going to the bathroom in the great outdoors. Camping was quite an adventure!

Geocaching

So I heard about a new little adventure geocaching....and we love advernture so we gave it a try.

Caleb and Luke loved it they just love being out in the woods hitting trees and tearing things apart.

Caleb started with the GPS then Jarrett took it over, when we got the exact point we the cache was suppose to be located Jarrett and I were discussing where we thought the possible cache was and Caleb started yelling, "Hey guys, I found something here!" Since he was about thirty feet away we though he was pulling our leg but sure enough he pulled out the cache. Jarrett and I we just laughing. Here we are analyzing all the factors and Caleb finds it. All the caches are hidden in plain sight. It is a great family adventure!

Crazy Hair!

Stacey put Luke's hair in a mowhawk curl while he was in the tub. It soon dried that way and would not lay down, even for church the next day!

Heart Run 2006

Today we went to our third Heart Run. Caleb and Luke both won gold medals!! Caleb loves his medal and he won't take his number off either. Caleb especially liked how everyone clapped for him at the finish line. Luke rode in the Chariot and enjoyed snacks! Aunt Stacey, Megan and Wyatt kept us company.
